Bodyweight squat
Practice sitting back and standing tall with control.
How to do it
- Stand with your feet around shoulder-width apart, toes slightly turned out.
- Bend at your hips and knees as though sitting into a chair. Keep your heels grounded.
- Lower only as far as feels comfortable, then push through your feet to stand.
Form check
Keep your knees following the direction of your toes. Use a stable chair behind you for support if needed.
Make it easier
Reduce the range of movement and use a stable support where appropriate.
Move within a comfortable range and keep breathing. Stop if a movement causes pain or you feel unwell. Ask a qualified trainer for help with unfamiliar equipment.
