Bodyweight squat

Practice sitting back and standing tall with control.

How to do it

  1. Stand with your feet around shoulder-width apart, toes slightly turned out.
  2. Bend at your hips and knees as though sitting into a chair. Keep your heels grounded.
  3. Lower only as far as feels comfortable, then push through your feet to stand.

Form check

Keep your knees following the direction of your toes. Use a stable chair behind you for support if needed.

Make it easier

Reduce the range of movement and use a stable support where appropriate.

Move within a comfortable range and keep breathing. Stop if a movement causes pain or you feel unwell. Ask a qualified trainer for help with unfamiliar equipment.
