Incline push-up
An approachable push-up using a stable raised surface.
How to do it
- Place your hands a little wider than shoulder width on a fixed bench or sturdy surface.
- Step your feet back so your body forms a straight line.
- Bend your elbows to lower your chest toward the surface, then gently press away.
Form check
A higher surface makes the movement easier. Keep your shoulders relaxed and avoid letting your hips sag.
Make it easier
Reduce the range of movement and use a stable support where appropriate.
Move within a comfortable range and keep breathing. Stop if a movement causes pain or you feel unwell. Ask a qualified trainer for help with unfamiliar equipment.
