Machine chest press

Use a guided machine for a chest-level press.

How to do it

  1. Ask staff to adjust the seat so the handles sit around chest level.
  2. With your back supported, press the handles forward smoothly.
  3. Return without letting the weight stack slam.

Form check

Choose a light resistance that allows a comfortable range.

Make it easier

Use a wall push-up or reduce the machine resistance.

Move within a comfortable range and keep breathing. Stop if a movement causes pain or you feel unwell. Ask a qualified trainer for help with unfamiliar equipment.
