Reverse lunge

Step back into a controlled lunge.

How to do it

  1. Stand tall with enough space behind you.
  2. Step one foot back and bend both knees within a comfortable range.
  3. Press through the front foot to return and alternate.

Form check

Keep the front foot planted; shorten the movement if balance changes.

Make it easier

Use a supported split squat.

Move within a comfortable range and keep breathing. Stop if a movement causes pain or you feel unwell. Ask a qualified trainer for help with unfamiliar equipment.
