Standing calf raise

Move your ankles through a steady, controlled range.

How to do it

  1. Stand with your feet hip-width apart beside a stable support.
  2. Hold the support for balance and slowly raise your heels.
  3. Lower your heels gently back to the floor.

Form check

Keep your weight balanced across the balls of your feet and avoid bouncing.

Make it easier

Reduce the range of movement and use a stable support where appropriate.

Move within a comfortable range and keep breathing. Stop if a movement causes pain or you feel unwell. Ask a qualified trainer for help with unfamiliar equipment.
