Stationary bike
Cycle at an easy, steady pace.
How to do it
- Ask staff to set the seat so your knee stays slightly bent at the bottom of the pedal stroke.
- Begin with low resistance and smooth pedalling.
- Reduce effort gradually before stopping.
Form check
Keep your shoulders relaxed and knees tracking forward.
Make it easier
Use less resistance or a recumbent bike.
Move within a comfortable range and keep breathing. Stop if a movement causes pain or you feel unwell. Ask a qualified trainer for help with unfamiliar equipment.
